Cultists apprehended while performing initiation in Enugu

Some cultists have been caught in the act and apprehended while performing initiation on new members, in Enugu.

This development comes just after the Nigerian Police Force have intensified it’s effort on reducing cultism by launching the POCACOV campaign much to the delight of the Inspector General of police IGP Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU.
The Enugu state command of the Nigeria police force through its operatives of the Emene Division working in partnership with relevant stake holders on Saturday 12/10/19 nabbed six suspected notorious cultists belonging to supreme Viking confraternity.

It was gathered that the operatives had acted on an intelligence information received that initiation of cult members was taken place inside a bush located at Akpoga Nike of Enugu at about 10pm.

It was further gathered that suspects were on their cult initiation process when security operatives struck arresting them with their locally made double barrel pistol and cartridge.

Following their arrest, it was revealed that one okada rider and a generator repairer identified as Njoku Uchenna Sylvester of about 20 years from Mgbo, Ebonyi state but residing in Emene was being initiated and has his cult name as Bulldog.

He is now helping the operatives in their investigations alongside the following members of the group Ede chijioke also known as CJ Black a native of Ugbawka in Nkanu east local Government Area of Enugu state and who also is a plumber, Edeh Ibeabuchi also known as wiseman (18 years) from Nkanu west, and motor mechanic,Chinonso Ugwu Aka Chaka Bullet 25 years, a native of Onuogba Nike and an okada rider and acclaimed hair stylist, Oko Udochukwu AKA Double (21 years) from Onuogba Nike and an okada rider, Chinedu Nwakasi AKA Aro Swag of Ugwuoba oji River.

In his response, the new initiatee Njoku Uchenna Syllvester regretted giving up for initiation and maintained that he was coerced into that and was also promised that the move will make him to be prominent and protected but can now see that there is no truth in what they told him just as other members of the group are also regretting their involvement and claimed that they are making moves to renounce but are afraid of their group members who may come after them.

The commissioner of police Ahmad Abdurrahman has directed full scale investigations.

Meanwhile the national coordinator of police campaign Against cultism and other vices (POCACOV) Sp Ebere Amaraizu has urged youth to be law abiding and refrain from cultism and other vices in order to be champion as cultism and other vices ruins life and future.

He maintained that POCACOV is all about you and it is community driven and oriented in line with community oriented policing tenets and principle.
