Mountain Of Palliatives!!!

Chief Fide Odoh Again!!!

Over A Hundred Widows Benefit;

Says Motivation Came From The Good Works Of His Excellency, The Governor Of Enugu State.

Set To Unveil Prayer Group For His Excellency, Soon;

The immediate past Local Government Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, Hon. Chief Dr. Fide Odo, recently broke the bank, to shower outpouring quantity of palliatives on teeming indigents of Igbo-Eze South, to cushion the harsh effects of the unprecedented lockdown, occassioned by the fight against the spread of COVID 19 Pandemic.

Collaborating with a Comrade Ben Ugwoke-led group named, Abassadors for Unity, Development and Good Gobernance, Enugu North Senatorial Zone, Chief Fide Odoh, who today, is a serving Senior Special Assistant to His Excellency, the Governor, became an answered prayer for the painstakingly selected indigents across the 16 wards of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.

Ranging from rice, yam, sanitizers and facemasks, the former Mayor, with his heartfelt gesture, drew tears from a host of the hundreds of beneficiaries who clearly were beside themselves with joy, during the event.

In his usual character of deftness, meticulousness and thoroughness, and his track record of the knack to go the extra-miles in all he does, the serving SSA to the Governor of Enugu State, even went ahead to become the first individual, in this part of the country, the Enugu North Senatorial Zone, if not Enugu State, who would provide cooked food to the indigents, as part of their palliative packages.

Today Hon. Chief Odoh has joined the few public spirited individuals who have considered it apt, veritable and worthy to lend support to the indefatiguable Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Gentle Lion of Enugu State, who have consistently worked round the clock to ensure that the stunbborn virus doesn’t get a foothold on Enugu State.

It would be remembered how passionate, dilligent and remarkably impactful, Chief Odo was to Igbo-Eze South and its good people during his reign as Chairman. Many would still remember how he turned the fortunes of that LGA around with a number of ground breaking legacies that are still surviving the test of time. Today, even out of office as Chairman, he has refused to allow that passion wane, always placing the good people of Igbo-Eze South first, most times, even before self.

The truth in this assertion would easily be seen when one brings to bear, the fact that he became about the first individual in Igbo-Eze South to distribute palliatives oustide the Local and State government.

In an interaction with a crew of Home-Truth Magazine after the epoch making event, held in his opulent country home of Iheakpu Oka Ancient Kingdom, Odo, well known for his philanthropic dispositions, among other things, had this to say, “I was motivated by the happiness and The fulfilment I had after serving as a Council Chairman. I felt that the government must be supported. The Pandemic is everywhere And its fight must not be left for government alone.

“So Everybody must help to alievate the sufferings of this lockdown because it is not easy for the people.

“We tried to select the actual indegent widows. Beyond politics; all those who are here are people who we know their houses. We know the quality of houses they live in. We know that they don’t have children to help them. And we said we must intervene, to cushion the effects in support of our Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who in his personal magnanimity, decided to call me on board, first, as a Caretaker Chairman and subsequently as an elected Chairman.”

The two time Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, who exhausted his constitutional rights, haven been sworn into the office of Chairman twice, called on other stakeholders of the LGA to also take a cue and reach out to the less privileged in these perilous times.

Expressing optimism that the pandemic would soon become a story of the past, the grassroot focussed, erudite leader, urged the beneficiaries to obey all the protective best practices, recomended by government and which were enumerated to them during the event.

Commending the Executive Chairmen in Nsukka Senatorial zone, with special emphasis on his own Chairman, Hon Peter Andy, he said, “Our Governor is a man of wisdom. You can see the quality of current Chairmen he facilitated their emergence in our zone. They are very qualified; very competent; very active. They are working. My own Council Chairman has done great. So I am happy they are doing very well.”

Continuing, he said, “What we are doing here is just to help them to enable the goodies i.e the palliatives to trickle down further to these extremely vulnerable group.”

Letting the cat out of the bag, Chief Fide Odoh, disclosed his plan to soon unveil a network of prayer group whose sole task would be to pray for the wellbeing and the political future of His Excellency, the Governor.

Revealing that the group would be constituted mainly by the widows whose prayers, according to him, God doesn’t play with, he said, “Our database has the adresses of all these women. In the next few weeks, we will start calling them for a monthly meeting for our Governor. We will keep on praying for him because when he was saying that Enugu State is in the hands of God, people took it for granted. Today, what is happening? It is only God that can help us.”

Peeping into 2023, the veteran business mogul said, “My boss, the Governor made me a Chairman. So I won’t be stupid not to wish, pray and even fast for his further elevation, because as he is elevated, I will be dragged along. I can only wish my Governor the best because I am part of him. I am his son.”
